Our Founder
Carolyn Acosta Allen
Is a graduate of Colegio San de Inglaterra; she studied medicine at the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario specializing in Internal Medicine; with further studies in Tropical Medicine at the London School of Tropical Medicine, in England.
In 2002, feeling the need to contribute towards finding a solution to the poverty in Colombia she established Fundación Cigarra, in the Localidad 19 of Ciudad Bolívar in Bogotá, guided by the conviction that children are the future of the country and that all children have the right to quality care.
